I'm Louise - a Chinese-Australian, married to a Welshman (a.k.a Hubby Chief Taste Tester), living in Singapore since September 2006 and loving every minute of our time here on this tropical isle.

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always loved to "play cafe".  I would turn our family dining room into my own fancy restaurant and invite my siblings to come have lunch.

The pleasure of bringing together a bunch of ingredients to form a delicious and beautiful feast is one of the most rewarding experiences in life.

Starting up a restaurant anywhere let alone Singapore is a huge undertaking, so I have decided to start up my own upstairs restaurant/supper club at home!  Please wish me luck!

My focus will be on weekend brunches - as they are my favorite meal of the week.  Relaxed affairs, always with good company and delicious goodies to feast on...

I also have a passion for baking so if my secret brunch events are a success I hope to also hold some "covert" afternoon teas.  A tea party with a table heaving with cakes like our Mum's used to make.  Not the ones poked and prodded to designer perfection that don't taste of much at all.  But the home baked variety, lovingly created by hand with only natural ingredients, beautifully imperfect but mouthwatering all the same!

Imagine: buttery sponge cake with fresh strawberries and whipped vanilla cream, carrot cake with maple frosting & homemade brownies with just the right amount of "squidginess" in the middle of each piece.  What better way to spend a couple of hours on a weekend afternoon meeting new friends over cups of tea & slices of freshly baked cakes?
